In a shocking incident that has sent ripples of fear through Niger State, an 18-year-old panel beater has been arrested for the alleged murder of a former Permanent Secretary. Without warning, he allegedly stabbed Jagaba in the head and fled in the victim’s vehicle. Nuhu Abubakar, an eyewitness, recounted the horrifying scene, stating, “The incident happened on Saturday. The panel beater came to the Jagaba industry to fix the car. There was no argument. The next thing we saw was that the panel beater entered the car and drove away while the perm sec was lying in a pool of his blood.” Sadly, Jagaba, who formerly served in the Niger State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The Niger State Police Command acted swiftly, launching an investigation into the murder and theft. Thanks to quick information dissemination to police formations across the state, the stolen vehicle was intercepted within hours. Abdulhakeem was apprehended along Bosso Estate Road in Minna. Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the arrest and the recovery of the stolen car. “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being the victim’s car painter…He said after discussing changing the vehicle bumper, he deliberately stabbed the deceased severally on the head and neck, and also hit him multiple times with a stapler…” Abiodun stated.
