In a recent update, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Nigerian artist Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is now cooperating with authorities as investigations into the tragic passing of Mohbad continue.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, shared this information with the public during a statement on Tuesday evening, shedding light on the situation. He mentioned, “Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, has voluntarily come forward to assist us with our ongoing investigation.”
This positive development comes less than four days after Naira Marley’s associate, Sam Larry, also decided to cooperate with the authorities.
Naira Marley, via a recent social media post, revealed that he had returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to actively support the ongoing investigation. He conveyed, “I’d like to inform everyone that I’ve just returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to collaborate with the authorities in resolving this matter. It’s crucial for me to contribute to finding the truth and ensuring justice is served.”
While Naira Marley has faced allegations of involvement in bullying and harassment of the late singer, he steadfastly maintains his innocence.
Before his unfortunate demise, Mohbad had expressed concerns about his safety, suggesting that his former boss, Naira Marley, might be held accountable for any harm that befell him. This tragic incident occurred amidst controversies surrounding allegations of bullying, assault, and threats involving Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry.
