In a chilling incident that unfolded in Apamsede community near the 12 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigeria Army in Lokoja, a six-year-old boy named Friday Oshodi was reportedly buried alive for allegedly pilfering N1,000 in the Kogi State capital on Tuesday.

The shocking act was perpetrated by the minor’s older brother, Goodness Oshodi, who took the boy to a bushy area close to the community, dug a hole, and buried him alive. The heart-wrenching episode unfolded after their mother discovered her missing money and instructed Goodness to discipline his younger brother.

An eyewitness revealed that the distressed cries of the little boy caught the attention of people nearby, leading to a prompt rescue mission. The child was pulled out of the makeshift grave and safely taken home.

Upon reaching out to the Kogi State Police Command, the Public Relations Officer, Willy Aya, confirmed the horrifying incident. The suspect, Goodness Oshodi, has been apprehended and is currently undergoing interrogation.

Contradicting the older brother’s viral video confession, where he claimed the theft was N1,000, the police authorities stated that the minor had actually stolen N10,000. The Police spokesman clarified that the child had previously run away from home for approximately two months and resurfaced on Tuesday to commit the theft that led to this brutal punishment.

This disturbing case underscores the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the actions taken by the older brother. The Kogi State Police Command is expected to provide further details as the interrogation unfolds.
