Former Tottenham manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, finds himself out of a job as Al-Ittihad has decided to part ways with him. This decision came in the wake of a series of disappointments in the Saudi Pro League, which ultimately led to a heated altercation with their star player, Karim Benzema.

Nuno’s journey at Al-Ittihad took a sour turn as the team failed to secure a victory in their last five league matches, culminating in their elimination from the AFC Champions League group stage by Al-Quwa Al-Juwiya.

Despite boasting a roster filled with talent, featuring the likes of former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, ex-Celtic winger Jota, and former Liverpool player Fabinho, Nuno managed to clinch victory in only two of the team’s last nine matches across various competitions.

In the aftermath of a humiliating defeat to Al-Quwa Al-Juwiya, tensions ran high in the locker room. Allegedly, a fiery exchange of words took place between Benzema and Nuno, with both parties exchanging insults, as reported by Revelo.

Rumors are now circulating that Al-Ittihad is considering the appointment of a French manager to appease Benzema. Among the names being floated as potential replacements, Laurent Blanc, who previously managed Lyon, stands out as a strong contender. The next move for the Saudi Pro League club is eagerly awaited as they seek to regain their footing in the league.
